Most of the virtual training programs today use a passive learning model. They involve limited contact and rely heavily on pre-recorded audio/video, and slide decks. At Anvaya Healthcare, we believe that clinical psychology wouldn’t make progress through learning in isolation. We prefer active learning, and real-time engagement and offer this in our virtual internship programs by means of strong mentorship.
All our training modules are curated, supervised, and evaluated by practicing clinical psychologists and expert psychiatrists. You learn from specialists who handle active cases daily, giving you exposure to current clinical realities.
Our curriculum is not generic. It utilises real-world clinical case histories. You will track the development of complex symptoms, map out diagnostic timelines, and observe how professionals establish differential diagnoses.
You will regularly participate in live, virtual role-plays. These sessions simulate initial intake interviews and mental status examinations, giving you immediate, constructive feedback from senior supervisors to refine your communication and assessment style.
Our program is structured systematically to meet the strict practicum, field-work, and external internship credit requirements set by major domestic and international universities.
Mumbai University follows a semester system and has exams in November-December and April-May. TISS and most private colleges have their dissertations and internal assessments throughout the year. This leaves most psychology students with very small, unpredictable time frames to even think of a clinical internship. Balancing the university course, research dissertations, and internal assessments makes scheduling a firm internship difficult, and it would mean sacrificing academics.
This is why the Online Psychology Internship at Anvaya Healthcare is designed to be available throughout the year. It offers students a choice and flexibility for internships based on what would be convenient for students based on their college’s semester breaks. It also has an intensive track for students that can be done over the May-June Month break. For students at Mumbai University, it is designed for flexibility as the program can be scheduled around students’ needs based on the semester internship deadline and clinical hours. You’ll receive a comprehensive syllabus, transparent performance tracking, and a verified certificate of completion to submit to your department head or training coordinator. We’d still recommend confirming your specific college’s internship guidelines beforehand — Mumbai University, TISS, and SNDT each have slightly different documentation requirements.

The programme welcomes second-year and final-year undergraduate students (B.A./B.Sc.), postgraduate scholars (M.A./M.Sc.), fresh graduates, and career switchers. First-year students with a strong interest in mental health can apply too. Because the programme begins with foundational modules — structured history-taking and Mental Status Examinations — before advancing to complex disorders, no prior clinical experience is required.
The internship requires four hours a day, Monday through Friday, split between live interactive lectures, group case discussions, role-play exercises, and independent case portfolio mapping. A minimum of 90% attendance is required to earn your certificate and qualify for a Letter of Recommendation. If you have an unavoidable university exam, inform your assigned clinical supervisor in advance so we can arrange supplementary material or a make-up assignment.
To protect patient confidentiality and follow strict ethical guidelines, interns do not interact directly with active patients during the virtual programme. Instead, we use high-fidelity, anonymised clinical case files, live-action role-plays, and simulated intake interviews. This builds genuine diagnostic and case-formulation skills in an ethically safe, highly supportive learning environment.
By the end of the programme, you’ll have a portfolio of case formulations across the core disorder categories covered, a documented record of your MSE and intake practice sessions, a verified Certificate of Completion, and — for interns who maintain 90%+ attendance and strong performance — a Letter of Recommendation from your supervising clinician. This portfolio is designed to be submission-ready for your university’s internship requirements and strong supporting material for future clinical or postgraduate applications.
