Hypnosis refers to an altered state of consciousness in which the client is more susceptible to suggestions and direction by the therapist. Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique in which a client is brought into a trance-like state of increased suggestibility, decreased peripheral awareness, and focused attention. In it, a subject is remarkably receptive to a concept or picture, yet they are not “controlled” by anybody. Rather than attempting to force clients to modify their behavior, a skilled clinical hypnotherapist may assist them in this condition by helping them to relax and focus inward, where they can find and use resources inside themselves to help them better manage pain, and physical or psychological issues. A client eventually have more control over their bodily and psychological reactions as they learn how to manage their levels of awareness on their own.

Hypnotherapy is usually used in combination with other psychiatric or medical treatments, such as conventional talk therapy techniques. However, hypnosis can be a useful tool in the treatment of a wide range of conditions, including anxiety, stress, panic attacks, PTSD, phobias, substance abuse, sexual dysfunction, unwanted compulsive behaviors, mood disorders, and unhealthy eating behavior. It may be applied to solve interpersonal problems, learning disabilities, and sleep difficulties. Moreover, hypnotherapy is effective with several other medical issues, including autoimmune disease symptoms, skin diseases, digestive issues, and gastrointestinal side effects from chemotherapy or pregnancy. Hypnotherapy has been shown to help burn victims and surgery patients heal more quickly and with less pain and anxiety.

While there are variations in methods, professional hypnotherapy is usually conducted in a soothing, healing setting. Your therapist will help you become calm and concentrated, usually by using calming verbal statements and guided imagery. When you're in this state, you're very receptive to positive, transforming messages. The therapist can help you identify issues, let go of negative ideas or actions, and, ideally, consider and accept alternative suggestions for how to respond. Then, you can both return to your regular awareness and discuss the suggestions. We at Anvaya Healthcare have a team of Licensed hypnotherapists who can help you in your journey to recovery.
